Devastation...

I cannot believe what is happening in California right now. I lived in Ranch Bernardo (San Diego) for about 4 years when I was younger. This morning my mom called me and told me that the house we lived in burned down along with four others on our street. She also told me that most of our ward (at the time) who lived in a community named "The Trails" lost their homes. This is such a tragic and devastating event, and I cannot seem to wrap my brain around it. I hope those that are suffering from the loss right now are getting the aid and comfort that they need. If any of you living in California know of anything we can do here in Utah...please let us know. My heart and prayers goes out to all my old friends and everyone else in Southern California who are being hit by this tragedy.

12. who does the laundry? I do, Darren has a tendency of shrinking my clothes.
13. who does the dishes? Darren is supposed to, because I always cook, but I usually end up doing it.
14. who is better on the computer? Probably me.
15. who mows the lawn? Our gardner jake and his crew.
16. who pays the bills? I do.
17. who cooks dinner? I do. I am a very picky/healthy eater and I love to cook and create new fun recipes.
18.who drives when you are together? Darren does about 90% of the time.
19. who is the most stubborn? Darren is by far.
20. who is the first to admit they are wrong? I usually am. Again, Darren is stubborn :)
21. Who's parents do you see more? Mine. His parents live closer, but his family is not nearly as social as mine is.
22. who named your dog? We don't have a cat...and I named her Harley.
23. who kissed who first? He kissed me first in his apartment.
24. who asked who out? Neither of us...we just sort of started "hanging out" which turned into a relationship pretty quickly.
25. what happened on the date? Again...I honestly cannot remember a first date. But the first time we hung out "together" we played card games at his apartment with some friends.
26. who is more sensitive? I am
27. who has more friends? Darren does. He is better at keeping in touch with people.
28. who has more siblings? I do by far, 9 sisters and 1 brother. Darren has 1 brother and 1 sister (and neither of them have children yet), so he had quite the shock marrying into my family :)
29. who wears the pants in the relationship? We both do. But I let Darren think he is the only one who does :)
30. who spends more money? I do by far....However, I blame that on my obsession for shoes and designer jeans.

A girl can dream, right?

Well recently I received a much desired raise at my 9-5 job selling high end life insurance. For a while now I have been thinking and thinking about getting a personal trainer, but could never bring myself to a) make the committment and b) spend the money. Well with this raise, I finally decided to treat myself. The picture on the left will be me in a few months (again, a girl can dream :)). Anyway, I had my first appointment with my trainer last night, and let me tell you I have NEVER worked out as hard as I did last night. There were several points I thought I would pass out, throw up or was coming close to dying. I always considered myself "in shape", but I will now be the first to admit that being thin, is not even close to being in shape. Oh my goodness!! When we were done, I could barely walk out of them gym. And trust me, walking around today in my stilettos is not doing me any favors...as we worked out the legs last night. I will see my trainer 3 times a week, with the next time being Thursday. I am so excited, I can barely stand it. Even after only one session I already feel so much more energetic and just better all around. Yay!!

Wedding date...

Tonight me and D have one last friend's wedding to go to. It is in the Wells Fargo building downtown on the 23rd floor. For those of you not from Utah, it is one of (if not the) largest buildings downtown and is very classy and upscale. So I wanted to find a fun classy but sexy dress to wear tonight. I ended heading to Macy's last night after work and <---found this dress.

I love this dress so much. It is comfortable, form flattering, and very sexy! Trust me, it is much cuter without tights. Anyway, after the wedding me and D got a room at the Hilton downtown so we could go out and have some fun after the wedding, and also get a night away from our newly acquired full house. Should be fun...I am very much looking forward to it.

I get the hint...

Well I have been advised recently that I am "slacking in the blogging department", so I figured it was about time for an update. So much has been happening lately, and I feel too busy to do anything, let alone update my blog. One thing I am very excited about though is the new season that we here in Utah are all starting to feel....Fall! I love Fall! I love the clothes, the weather, the scenery, football games, sweats...I could go on and on. But I won't. :)


Last month I sold my sister Melissa a townhouse in Provo. That was a huge headache, and interesting to say the least. Real Estate has it's ups and downs, but being the agent to a family member is a whole new ball game. Anyway, she is in her new house and loving it. Yay!! The commission I made from that has landscaped and fenced our backyard...finally!

Another HUGE change has come about in our household. As you know from my last post...I also sold my brother's condo. So now we have a very FULL house. Spencer, Liz and their two kids (Jack & Chloe) have moved in with me and Darren. Again...very interesting to say the least. Living with another family definitely has its ups and downs. It is probably one of the hardest things I have ever done. We are working on finishing our basement, and as soon as it is done...they will move down there, which hopefully makes things a little easier for all of us. I was once told by a good friend, "Don't ever live with another woman." And I am now seeing what she meant. It is hard, but we are making the best of it.

At my 9-5 job selling high end life insurance I actually finally got a big raise which has been a long time coming. I am very excited about this and everything it will allow me and Darren to do. Hopefully we will start traveling more. We did quite a bit of it this year, and I now have the itch.

Anyway, life is moving ahead as usual, it just seems at a much faster pace. But I had better get back to work now...busy busy busy., And Courtney, I will try to update more in the future :)

Real Estate Anyone...

Well, having a lot of family in Utah is really starting to pan out for me career-wise. I have been in real estate for about 3.5 years now, and LOVE IT!! You have to work really hard, but in the end is so worth it. Above is a picture of my brother's Condo (building) we currently have listed. I am also currently shopping for a new home for my sister Melissa and her family throughout Utah County. Should be a good month for all of us!
