8 months

Holland watching Mickey this morning

My big girl is 8 months old today. I know everyone says this, but it is truly crazy how fast time flies.

At 8 months Holland girl:

- Still loves her movies and will sit forever watching them. Her favorites continue to be Madagascar I & II, Shrek I, II & III, Tink and The Bee Movie. She also LOVES Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. She is constantly laughing and smiling at the mean/scary/ugly characters as if they are her favorites.

- She walks all over the front room holding onto furniture. We are thinking she will be walking early.

- She loves food, just like her parents. From spaghetti to oatmeal to cotton candy (shocker right) to 7 layer dip to you name it she likes it, as we pretty much give her anything we are eating.

- She still does not like crowds of people giving her attention (again like her mom), she would rather just be with a few people in a quiet place.

- She says Da-da-da-da-da-da-da all day long, but when she gets upset it gets really fast and with a frantic tone. Even though she is sad, it is the cutest thing ever and D loves it.

- She sleeps every night with Rafi (her stuffed Zebra). The second she sees him, her thumb goes in her mouth and she dives for her crib where we keep Rafi during the day.

- She sucks her thumb but only when she is falling asleep, never just because.

- She hates her carseat, but will always fall asleep in the car.

- She LOVES being outside. I am not looking forward to the snow, when we will not be able to let her play outside anymore.

- She loves her cousins and is especially taken with Cooper. Cooper can always get her to laugh and smile when she is upset. D and I have called him the "Baby Whisperer" on occasion.

- She sleeps at least 12 hours through the night and still takes two 1-2 hour naps during the day.

- She absolutely loves bathtime and splashing in the water.

- She is definitely on the small side for 8 months. She currently weighs 16 lbs (as of this morning), but is very long. 6-12 months clothes are huge around, but she definitely needs the length.

- She seems to prefer her Mom right now to anyone else, but I am sure that will all change once she realizes what spoiling is :) D is ready for that stage.

- Like every baby, she wants anything she isn't supposed to have from cellphones, to laptops to remotes. Occasionally we give in, then quickly change our minds as we see everything headed for her mouth.

- She is a great baby at restaurants, as long as you give her some of whatever you have.

- She loves drinking water out of "big girl" cups, and refuses to use a sippy cup.

- She has her Daddy wrapped around her little finger, which I love to see.

We love this little girl more than life itself. She truly is the perfect baby. We often joke that our next one will most likely be a terror, because Holland has been so easy. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

(I just die over these little leggings...)
